Tutorial for checking FTP/SFTP publication
Numento uses a standard communication system with your hosting server called FTP/SFTP. Publication issues may be due to:
- Incorrect FTP settings (the most common cause).
- A temporary malfunction at your hosting provider.
- A blockage on your computer (rare).
We recommend that you obtain FTP software (Filezilla works very well on Mac and Windows, available here: Filezilla Client
Technical support does NOT provide technical support for FTP publication issues that are not related to Intuisphere, the developer of Numento.
Verification steps
1. Connect to your hosting server
Enter the following information in the FTP software:
- The name of the FTP server called FTP Server/Host (usually in the form: ftp.myserverftp.com or in the form of an IP address: 12.34.56.789).
- Your FTP username (Login).
- Your FTP password.
If an error occurs, contact your hosting provider as your settings may be incorrect or your hosting may be temporarily unavailable.
2. Sending a test file to the server
Create a text file named hello.txt containing the text: "Hello World!!". Using the FTP software, select this file and send it to your hosting provider.
If an error occurs, check that the folder on the server is valid and that it has write permissions. If the error persists, ask your hosting provider for details about this folder.
3. Accessing your test file on the Internet
If your file has been successfully uploaded, check that it can be accessed from your preferred web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, etc.) at the following address:
4. Configuring the Numento software
Once you have successfully completed the three previous steps, enter the FTP/SFTP settings in Numento.
The FTP folder in which you uploaded your test file is the one you will need to enter in Numento in the "Remote FTP folder" field.
